Lindsay and Matthew originally met each other in the 2nd grade at Doherty Elementary. A place where Lindsay was the smallest, most innocent girl in school, whereas Matthew frequently spent days in detention with his group of best friends. Needless to say, their love story did not start at first sight.
Fast forward to middle school, where Matthew was invited to Lindsay’s Bat Mitzvah, and to this day is frequently reminded that he left early due to a baseball tournament the following morning. Matthew recalls the event, and would make the same decision 10 out of 10 times if it meant getting a trophy on Sunday.
Their paths crossed again later in high school, where they had multiple classes together. Lindsay and Matthew were paired in a chemistry group, and after working on group projects at Lindsay's house, Matthew would escape to watch Detroit Tigers or West Coast NBA games with Jon on the couch in their family room. It was these early days where Matthew realized that his and Lindsay’s families had much in common. Shared family values, hobbies, and an unconditional love for the University of Michigan. After a year of sitting next to each other every day in Spanish class, they started dating at the beginning of senior year of high school (more on this later).
Lindsay and Matthew continued to date through college, and both moved to New York City after graduation. Their love stayed strong as Lindsay was completing her Master’s of Clinical Psychology at Columbia, while Matthew traveled weekly to work in Puerto Rico working on the government bankruptcy.
It's later - After 9.5 years of dating, although some believe closer to 11 (Many of Lindsay’s close friends and family like to fabricate the inception of their relationship, which remains a heated point of debate), Matthew proposed to Lindsay and made it official…they are soon to become husband and wife!
We are looking forward to celebrating our special day with each and every one of you!
